The third edition of EWAS carries on the tradition of providing AOSD researchers and practitioners with an interactive forum for fostering novel ideas and turning submitted material into conference-ready papers. We employ the typical instruments for generating and discussing novel ideas and research results, more specifically demo-, and poster-sessions. Improving submitted workshop papers will be fostered by giving authors feedback in two different forms: by detailed and constructive reviews from international experts on AOSD and by discussions during highly interactive "writer's workshop" sessions. In the latter, authors receive direct feedback from peers regarding their paper's content and presentation. Armed with both forms of feedback, authors will have ample time to improve their paper after EWAS for one of the major conferences that welcome AOSD-related work or for the journal special issue that is planned by the EWAS organizers. (Last year, after EWAS, discussed papers were revised and submitted as an AOSD'06 technical paper, of which two were accepted for the main conference, which we believe is an indication of the usefulness of the EWAS format.)
EWAS06 is now a one-day workshop, taking place on thursday August 31.
The workshop is organized primarily as a writer's workshop; to better understand this, you may look at this short description, or at this more detailed pattern language.
please remember that you are required to read every paper before you come to the workshop (FinalPapers are available now).
